What type of Switchboard do I need?
Typically, if the switchboards are in a dedicated switch room with locked doors, IP40 is sufficient depending on the dust penetration requirements. If there is public access to the switchboard/room, you will need IP42. If the switchboard is to be outside, then a minimum of IP56 weatherproof construction will be required.
What brand of circuit breakers?
90% of our components use the SUSOL LS brand of electrical components. This brand has all the test certificates AS/NZS required and are equal to and/or equivalent with Schneider and NHP brands. Unless specified, the SUSOL LS would be our default brand for cost savings.
Can we get Data sheets?
MPE Custom Switchboards Is able to provide a data sheet for everything we put into our products, available on request.
What is the turn around time?
For Main Switchboards and Main Distribution boards (Custom Made), we have a minimum turn-around time of around 6 – 8 weeks (Standard), from the date we get approval to construct. In busier times, this can extend, but you will be informed in the beginning of the approved order what lead times are expected for the current workload times at that stage.
What is meant by TTA?
Type Tested assembly (TTA) is a low voltage switchgear and control gear assembly that is verified for its performance as per AS/NZS 61439 standards
Will you provide required paperwork?
MPE Custom Switchboards will Design & Engineer your switchboard for your contract specific requirements. We will provide CAD drawings for your approval and will also complete the compliance certificate, Time Study Curves, Grading & Discrimination reports for the relevant authorities. We will also provide any other paperwork upon your request ie; operation manuals, certification certificates that fall within our responsibility.
Are their any restrictions in the designs?
Designs are adhered and incorporated to AS/NZS Standards, Local Service Installation Rules , Wiring Rules and Type Tested Design specifications.
